Another Nintendo character will receive a film, but it won’t be the one that is being reported.

In The Super Mario Bros. Movie earlier this year, Nintendo and Illumination collaborated to bring their iconic Mario to life. It makes sense that Nintendo wants to adapt more of their well known characters for movies after grossing over $1 billion at the box office. Next, Link is supposed to receive his own The Legend of Zelda movie. While we had previously assumed that this would be an animated movie, a Fandom Wire news leak suggested that it might actually be live-action. The live-action The Legend of Zelda movie is being created by Nintendo and Universal Studios, not Illumination, according to the news leaker( My Time to Shine Hello). This is most likely due to the fact that Illumination specializes in animated movies like The Super Mario Bros. Movie, The Secret Life of Pets, and the Despicable Me franchise, whereas Universal Studios focuses on live-action adventure films like King Kong and The Mummy. Given how well-received the animated Mario film was, the alleged decision to make a live-action The Legend of Zelda movie is unexpected. This might indicate that Nintendo intends to produce an adult-focused, more serious film adaptation rather than a children’s one. It makes sense that Nintendo and Universal would appeal to an older audience given that the majority of Zelda players are typically 10 years of age or older. After the more recent Zelda video games( Breath of the Wild and Tears of The Kingdom) were so popular, it also makes sense that Nintendo would give Link his own film. Both of the two games sold 20 million copies, making them huge hits on Switch. Fans are speculating about Link’s voice and what he will say now that The Legend of Zelda movie appears to be on the horizon. In video games, he typically expresses his thoughts through characters rather than speaking. Chris Pratt played the lead character in the Mario movie, which was […]
