Nintendo has officially revealed its first alternate color options for the Switch 2 Joy-Cons, introducing soft pastel tones inspired by violet and teal. Branded as Light Purple and Light Green, the new controller colors offer a fresh look for the next-generation console—though the Light Green shade leans more toward blue in appearance.
The new Switch 2 Joy-Cons are scheduled to launch on February 12, releasing alongside Mario Tennis Fever. Fans eager to upgrade their setup can already place pre-orders, with the pastel Joy-Con set priced at $99.99, matching the cost of the standard Light Blue and Light Red Switch 2 controllers sold by Nintendo of America.

Nintendo increased the price of its Switch 2 Joy-Con controllers to $99.99 in August 2025, up from the previous $94.99. While the Switch 2 console itself avoided a price hike, Nintendo implemented notable price increases across its existing hardware lineup. The standard Nintendo Switch now retails for $339.99 (up from $299.99), the Switch OLED has risen to $399.99 (previously $349.99), and the Switch Lite saw the largest jump, now priced at $299.99 instead of $199.99. Even Nintendo’s Alarmo clock wasn’t exempt, receiving a $10 increase to $110.
Nintendo did not publicly explain the reasoning behind these price adjustments, but industry analysts largely attributed the changes to the effects of U.S. import tariffs impacting goods manufactured in China, Japan, and Vietnam, where much of Nintendo’s production takes place.
With prices holding steady at the higher tier, are the new Light Purple and Light Green (Blue) Switch 2 Joy-Cons tempting enough to add to your collection?
